Jessica Truong is an international road safety expert with more than 19 years of experience in the field. Jessica holds qualifications in psychology and science and is currently completing a PhD using Sweden’s Vision Zero planning approach. Jessica Truong has received the ACRS Women in Road Safety Award in honour for her commitment to improving road safety using technical knowledge, policy, strategy, and communication to deliver safer outcomes for all road users globally.
Her international work includes leadership roles with the Towards Zero Foundation and the Global New Car Assessment Program where she oversees programs and advocates for policy changes that can enhance vehicle safety and road safety globally and in the Asia Pacific region. In Australia, Jessica managed road safety policy and research programs with the internationally recognised Transport Accident Commission in Victoria. As a part of her role at the TAC, she championed for the change in focus from a traditional road safety approach to the Vision Zero/Safe System approach and led the TAC’s development and launch of its Towards Zero strategy and public education campaign which included the world renowned “Man on the Street” advertisement. Jessica is also a Director at Lösnignar, a specialist vision zero planning company.
