Join the ACRS Tasmania Chapter for an introductory session on the Australian Road Assessment Program (AusRAP), presented for members interested in learning more about this nationally significant road safety initiative.
This 30 minute presentation will provide an overview of AusRAP, including a walkthrough of the AusRAP Collection, explaining how road assessments are undertaken and how the data is used to identify opportunities to reduce death and serious injury on Australia’s road network. The session will also explore what’s on the horizon for the program and its future direction.
Led by Austroads, AusRAP is Australia’s implementation of the internationally recognised iRAP (International Road Assessment Program) methodology. It assesses the inherent safety of roads using a 5-star rating system, where 1 star represents the least safe roads and 5 stars the safest. The program supports Australia’s National Road Safety Strategy by helping identify where infrastructure improvements can deliver the greatest safety benefits.
Whether you are new to AusRAP or looking to better understand how road safety star ratings inform infrastructure investment and network planning, this session offers an excellent introduction to one of Australia’s key road safety assessment programs.
