The next ACRS Sunshine Coast Sub-Chapter seminar will be held at the University of the Sunshine Coast Sippy Downs campus, room E.2.25 on Tuesday the 30 July, with a 12:00pm start in person and 12:30pm start over zoom. Susan Teerds, the Chief Executive Officer of Kidsafe Queensland will provide insights on the safe transport of kids and adults with medical conditions.
Kidsafe Queensland’s mission is to reduce childhood incident rates by raising awareness of injury trends and providing practical, evidence-based injury prevention strategies and services to keep kids safe at home, on the road, and at play. Tragically, 75 Queensland children die annually from unintentional injury. Additionally, there are more than 16,000 hospitalisations and over 92,000 visits to the Emergency department.
Susan will be focussing on the new and existing dangers, the latest research and prevention techniques to reduce injuries and death from the road perspective. She will present how the laws, standards, and misuse of child car restraints affect the safety of kids in child restraints and the safety of kids and adults with medical conditions.
If you plan an attending in person, please register by 22 July for catering.
