Our three guest speakers include;

This presentation will cover the two new global guides on speed management (from WHO and World Bank), and discuss the new information in these documents that is of relevance to local government in Australia and New Zealand. This includes improved information that will assist in advocacy, as well as a snapshot of low-cost interventions that work.
  2. Dr Glen Koorey (ViaStrada); ‘How do we sell the benefits of lower speeds?’ This think-piece introduces the current state of play around setting and changing speed limits in NZ, discusses some of the existing challenges to seeing more speed limit changes being enacted, and suggests ways to address these.

This presentation will discuss the background to the Shire’s decision to participate in RACWA’s funded Safer Speeds Trial’ – its objectives and issues that have arisen in the planning process.
