With the assistance of an Australian federal government grant, the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) is currently undertaking work to develop a Capacity Building Program for road safety professionals to gain a holistic understanding of road safety.
The key elements of the program are:
- An online body of knowledge (RS BoK): and
- An online, self-paced, transdisciplinary, road safety fundamentals training module.
The Capacity Building Program is a major initiative of the ACRS in 2024-2026, and there are multiple ways for ACRS members to make a meaningful contribution to this ground-breaking project:
1. Road Safety Capacity Building Specialist Panel
We have established a small working group of ACRS members to oversee the development and authorship of the program and are now seeking specialist expertise from the broader ACRS membership to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to join a Specialist Panel.
The specialist expert will be required to:
- Author content materials (BoK chapters, online training modules)
- Peer-review content materials by others in your specialist area
- Take part in future development projects to expand the body of knowledge and/or training modules.
2. User Experience Research
This program is for you, and people just like you. Sharing your ideas, expectations and experiences will support us to build a strong, accessible resource for road safety specialists now and in the future.
3. Product Testers
As we develop each phase of the capacity building program, there will be opportunities to review every element we design, and we need your help to test the functional and non-functional aspects of the program, including:
- Design
- Usability
- Accessibility
- Compatibility
- Performance
- Security
