ACRS Announces New Executive Council for 2025

The Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) is pleased to announce the confirmation of its new Executive Council, endorsed at today’s Annual General Meeting.

Leading the Council is Ms Teresa Williams, appointed as President. Ms Williams brings a wealth of experience in road safety leadership and will guide the ACRS in its mission to eliminate road trauma across Australasia.

Joining her in the Council are:

  • Professor Narelle Haworth, Vice President (Policy and Advocacy)
  • Mr Craig Hoey, Vice President (Finance and Admin)
  • Dr Karen Stephan, Secretary
  • Mr Michael Nieuwesteeg, Council Member
  • Mr David McTiernan, Council Member
  • Dr Jamie MacKenzie, CNC Representative
  • Dr Rod Katz, CNC Representative (until 17 June 2025)

The ACRS sincerely thanks Professor (Em.) Ann Williamson, for her outstanding leadership and tireless dedication as ACRS President since 2022. Professor (Em.) Williamson will continue to contribute in an advisory capacity as Immediate Past President, ensuring continuity and strategic oversight.

The ACRS thanks all outgoing Council members – Dr John Crozier, Professor Sharon Newnam, and Dr Sjaan Koppel – for their valuable service and looks forward to a productive year ahead under this renewed leadership. Together, we remain committed to evidence-based advocacy, collaboration, and action toward road safety for all.
