The workshop will provide employers with:

  • The tools to develop a Road Safety Risk Management Plan to minimise the risks to employees and sub-contractors, while meeting their specific business needs.
  • Strategies designed to minimise harm from road crashes to employees and sub-contractors.
  • Strategies to minimise costs to the business from insurance and other costs.
  • Ongoing mentoring, for a limited time, to businesses or industry groups requiring assistance to develop their Plans.

Road crashes represent major risks for businesses with employees / sub-contractors who drive for work. Having an effective Road Safety Risk Management Plan:

  • Reduces insurance claims and cost, and time off the road.
  • Reduces workers compensation claims and premiums.
  • Reduces risk of claims against the business.
  • Reduces staff turnover and recruitment / training costs.
  • Results in more satisfied staff.
  • Reduces pressure on managers / owners.

This event will be run by the ACRS with assistance from the ACT Government under the ACT Road Safety Fund Community Grant Program.
