Thank you for the wonderful response to ARSC2016! In September 2016 we welcomed 600 delegates to ARSC2016 in Canberra for 3 full days beginning 6 September 2016. This response confirms the enthusiasm and dedication of all those working to expedite road trauma reductions.

The ARSC2016 Post-Conference Wrap-Up and ARSC2016 Photo Gallery are now available. Read the ARSC2015 Post-Conference Wrap-Up and see the ARSC2015 Photo Gallery for the inaugural conference.

We look forward to your participation in ARSC2017 to be held in Perth, Australia, 10-12 October 2017, the largest dedicated road safety conference in our region.

The Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) is the region’s peak membership association for road safety professionals, advocates, and members of the public who are focused on saving lives and serious injuries on our roads.

Australia’s current road toll sits at approximately 38,300 per year – this includes 1,300 deaths and 37,000 serious injuries every year.  The subsequent impact on Australia’s health system and communities is enormous, with the cost in monetary terms alleged to be $32bn annually – more than our national defence budget. The United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 underpins Australia’s National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020 (NRSS), and was recently praised by our Prime Minister as marking a ‘turning point for global road safety, (working towards) sparing people from avoidable deaths and injuries that cause so much anguish and cost for our communities’.   The primary aim of the College is to improve the outcomes of the NRSS. The College provides a rich, collaborative environment to promote communication, networking, professionalism & advocacy across all spheres of road safety – including policy, advocacy, research, application & dissemination. Our current membership includes experts from across all areas of road safety: policy makers, academics, community organisations, researchers, federal, state and local government agencies, private companies and members of the public.  We attract and retain these experts through the active and inclusive nature of our organisation, and we warmly invite all those interested in saving lives and serious injuries on our roads to be a part of our progressive organisation.
