The Journal of the Australasian College of Road Safety
The Journal of Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS Journal) is published quarterly and is sent to members as part of their membership subscription.
The ACRS Journal has been publishing a diverse range of papers on road safety from researchers, government organisations, and other road safety experts. Current and back editions are available for download from the ACRS Website. You can also search for current and past papers from ACRS Journal on TRID. TRID is an integrated database that combines the records from Transportation Research Board’s Transportation Research Information Services Database and the OECD’s Joint Transport Research Centre’s International Transport Research Documentation Database. When you search for papers on TRID, you not only have access to the ACRS Journal papers but also to other records of transportation research worldwide. If not already, add TRID as one of your regular online search databases so you have access to a wider range of road safety articles.
The ACRS Weekly Alert
The College publishes a weekly e-newsletter which is distributed to all members via email. The Weekly Alert provides an up-to-date snapshot of road safety events and news items of interest to members.
Materials (articles, advertisements and editorials) in the ACRS Journal or ACRS Weekly Alert may not necessarily reflect the opinions of article reviewers or the Australasian College of Road Safety, who disclaim all liability for any damages that may result from publication of any material and from persons acting on it.
National Road Safety Research Framework
On 21 and 22 February 2013, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) hosted a workshop aimed at developing a national road safety research strategy. Forty-five stakeholders from around Australia including economists, policy makers, lobbyists, health professionals, researchers and scientists, met to discuss a research strategy, determining national research priorities in line with the current National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020 and the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. A list of workshop participants is at Appendix 1 of the Workshop Report.
The research strategy aims to provide a high quality and effective framework for efficient research, development and evaluation activities, with the longer term goal of decreasing the rate of fatalities and injuries on Australia’s roads.
